PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for high polymer solid electrolytic capacitor capable of implementing a higher capacity capacitor. SOLUTION: The electrode for use in a high polymer solid electrolytic capacitor is stored and fixed in a closed space formed by an insulative resin, has a foil-shaped valve metal substrate having a plane which is rectangle in shape, and has a roughened surface formed with an insulative oxide film thereon, a valve metal substrate having a surface which is not roughened, and a foil- shaped conductive metal substrate. An end of the foil-shaped valve metal sustrate having a surface which is not roughened is bonded to an end of a notch portion of the foil-shaped valve metal substrate having a roughened surfaced formed with an insulative oxide film thereon such that both valve metals are electrically connected. An end of the foil-shaped conductive valve metal substrate is bonded to an end excluding the bonded option of the foil-shaped metal substrate having a surface which is not roughened such that both metals are electrically connected.
