<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external regulator of a generator for a vehicle in which the damages to the electric component and the storage battery of the vehicle can be prevented. SOLUTION: The external regulator of the generator for the vehicle comprises a Zener diode for detecting the overvoltage of the generator generated at an IG terminal, first and second transistors turned on when the Zener diode detects the overvoltage to output relay drive signals, a relay coupled at a contact terminal between a power transistor in a voltage regulator and a field coil to switch to drive a contact terminal by a relay drive signal when a first transistor is turned on to cut off the field current between the power transistor and the field coil, and an overvoltage cut-off unit having multiple resistors, capacitors and diodes to detect the overvoltage of the generator to cut off the field current flowing to the field coil to thereby control so that the generator becomes a non-power generating state.</p> |
