<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic shaping apparatus that causes no peak rate violation in an ATM cell subjected to shaping output even when the apparatus is provided with an interface capable of controlling cell transmission such as a UTOPIA interface. SOLUTION: A traffic shaper 1 applies band control to a received packet by each virtual channel and outputs cells. A clock transfer circuit 2 changes a clock of output data of the traffic shaper 1 into a clock of the UTOPIA interface. A UTOPIA interface section 3 outputs the output data of the clock transfer circuit 2 to the UTOPIA interface. A UTOPIA monitor section 4 monitors a state of an FIFO used in the inside of the UTOPIA interface section 3 and cells outputted from the UTOPIA interface to inform the traffic shaper 1 about an FIFO state signal and a VC number of cell.</p> |
