SOLUTION: The time interval for confirming the reception is shortened automatically for a fixed period when the electronic mail addressed to the self is received. The period is extended when a new electronic mail is received during the reception confirmation in the shortened time interval. The response is quickened, and an excessive load is prevented from being applied onto a mail server and the like.
