SOLUTION: An image is photographed by an image inputting part 104, the positions of a hand and a finger and the posture of a user are recognized by a finger image recognition function 300, and an image area is found by a symbol position deciding function 301 and an area designation function 302. From an image inside the found image area, a character is recognized by a character recognition function 303, and if the character is recognized, the recognized character is confirmed, selected, and corrected. Character code data of the recognized character are stored in a storage part 101, and the stored character code data are transferred to an OS or application.
