PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection circuit for superconducting magnet equipment, by which the quench of a superconducting magnet 10 can be avoided even when current-feed stopping due to an interruption of power supply occurs in superconducting magnet equipment where a current is supplied via current leads 6A, 6B made of oxide superconductors from a power 1 for excitation arranged in a room temperature region to the superconducting magnet 10 arranged in a cold temperature region 9. SOLUTION: This protection circuit comprises diodes 11a, 11b that are connected in parallel with the superconducting magnet 10 in the cold temperature region 9 and diodes 13a, 13b that are connected in parallel with the superconducting magnet 10 in the room temperature region and whose turn-on voltage is set so as to conduct when the voltage between both ends of the superconducting magnet 10, which occurs at the time of current-feed stopping due to the interruption of power supply, reaches the voltage value that causes the maximum current change velocity capable of demagnetization without the quench of the superconducting magnet 10. |
