PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication device which enables the power consumption at transmission in connection with another radio communication device to be controlled automatically and properly. SOLUTION: A station discovery processor 9 searches for the other party that it can communicate with by sending a station discovery message as a broad cast message and receiving a response message from a slave station having received this station discovery message. It sends at least two or more station discovery messages and executes the search of a slave station while changing the power consumption in transmission, based on a setting information table 10a, and stores the information concerned with the searched slave station in a slave station information table 10b. Then, a radio communication processor 8 decides the power consumption in transmission, based on the slave station information table 10b at radio connection with the slave station, and executes appropriate power control via a communication power controller 7.
