PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To widen the dynamic range of A/D conversion and to improve resolution. SOLUTION: After each of voltage signals V(i+1) of a horizontal line L(i+1) outputted from a CCD 10 are corrected by usingΔVi, these signals are inputted to an A/D converter 30. A correction value calculating part 50 finds a correction level valueΔDi so that an average feed through level value f'i of a plurality of representative pixels on a line Li preceding to the line L(i+1) can become a digital data value corresponding to a minimum voltage value within the voltage input range of the A/D converter 30 and a D/A converter 60 convertsΔDi to a corrected voltage valueΔVi, inputs it to an adding part 20 and uses it for correcting the respective voltage signals of the next line L(i+1).
