PURPOSE: A safety valve of a pressure vessel is provided to improve safety by lowering pressure with automatically discharging pressure in increasing internal pressure of the pressure vessel over the reference value, and to increase productivity by simplifying a pressure discharge unit. CONSTITUTION: A safety valve of a pressure vessel is composed of a stem(3) connecting a lower space part(3c) to an upper discharge passage(3b), and a pressure discharge unit(10) installed in the lower part of the lower space part of the stem and opened in increasing internal pressure over the reference value to discharge pressure. The pressure discharge unit has a hollow lid(11) fixed in the lower end of the lower space part with a hollow passage(11a), an opening member(12) inserted to the lower space part, and an elastic member(13) inserted to the upper part of the lower space part to shut off the passage by contacting the opening member to the lid. The pressure vessel is used safely by automatically discharging pressure.
