The mobile telephone network has a radio sub system (XBSS) and a management and routing sub system (ENSS). The radio sub system has links to a base station (EBSS) and a second link (PBSS) to a second base station as well as base station controllers (XBSC). The base station of the first link communicates directly with base station controllers through specific units, and each base station of the second link communicates with the base station controller via a telephone terminal telephone line and via an existing telecommunications network (PSTN).
