<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MPEG converter for enabling a connection to a network, a direct connection to a PC or the like without requesting complicated operation to a user. SOLUTION: When connecting an MPEG (Moving Picture Coding Experts Group) converter 1 to a network 12 on which a DHCP server 11 exists, a DHCP server function is disabled by switching a changeover switch 9. Thus, the MPEG converter 1 can perform data communication with a PC 13 connected to this network 12 through the network 12. When connecting the MPEG converter 1 through an Ethernet(R) connector 6 to the PC 13 in one-to-one correspondence, the DHCP server function is enabled by switching the changeover switch 9. Thus, the MPEG converter 1 can perform data communication with the PC 13 connected in one-to-one correspondence.</p> |
