PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication receiver capable of reducing the influence of noises at gain switching which are generated in using a gain variable unit of step type and direct conversion type having no intermittent time such as CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access). SOLUTION: The receiver has a constitution in which a terminal counter 110 and a sequencer 109 control a timing when gains of gain variable units PGA1-PGA3 by an AGC (Automatic Gain Control) section 111. Switching gains at a timing of a control signal or a signal susceptible to noises is avoided, thereby controlling the timing to switch the gains of the units.
