SUBSTRATE FOR FLEXIBLE RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for a flexible recording medium easily manufactured and suitable for a vacuum film-depositing method such as a sputtering method. SOLUTION: The substrate for the flexible recording medium consists essentially of polyimide resin containing a recurring unit represented by the following general formula (1). The substrate for the flexible recording medium can be applied to a recording medium. The recording medium can be formed in a tape-shape having 3-20μm thickness or in a disk-shape having 20-100μm thickness.
