PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera for both animation and still picture with high picture quality at low cost. SOLUTION: A digital image is transmitted from the camera by radio together with an animation/still picture instruction and in the image storage device, where this image is received, the animation/still picture is stored according to the instruction. The camera transmits audio/image data to the image storage device before starting storage. On the side of the image storage device, the still picture/animation is compressed and stored. In the case of reproducing, the stored data are transmitted after expanding the animation, and displayed on the display part of the camera. The camera reads the animation out of an image pickup part while thinning them and reads the still picture for all pixels. Corresponding to electronic zooming to a tele side, a degree of thinning is reduced.
