PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic card reader/writer capable of keeping the passage width of a magnetic card passage constant while reducing the number of parts and stabilizing the conveyance of a magnetic card for performing highly reliable data communication. SOLUTION: This magnetic card reader/writer is provided with an upper unit 2, a main body unit 1, conveying belts 6 and 7, driving pulleys 13 and 33, driven pulleys 12a, 12b, 12c, and 33a, magnetic heads 8, 9, and 10, a printing head 20, rollers 11 and 24, and convey-out means 50, 53, and 54. In a pulley shaft 38 of the driven pulley 33a arranged in the vicinity of the conveying passage between side plates 1b and 1b, E-shaped holding rings 39 are arranged at an interval equal to the set passage width for the magnetic care 46. A connection plate 40 with a dimension slightly smaller than the set passage width is arranged between the side plates 1b and 1b, and the connection plate 40 is fixed from the outside of the side plate 1b by means of a screw 40a.
