PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turnback circuit for power supply capable of downsizing, reducing consumption power and reducing a maximum current rating of a diode. SOLUTION: A turnback circuit for power supply 10a is provided with a constant-current power supply device 54a connected to one end of a submarine cable 52 as a transmission path. The circuit 10a comprises only one diode 12 to carry a current Io supplied from a constant-current power supply device 54b at other end and also not to carry the current Io supplied from the power supply device 54a at this end, a current detecting circuit 14 to detect a flow of the current Io to the diode 12 and a switching circuit 16 to short-circuit an anode and a cathode of the diode 12 when the current Io is detected by the detecting circuit 14.
