PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystal oscillator circuit which will not damage a crystal resonator, even if the gain of the inversion amplifier for exciting the crystal resonator is set high. SOLUTION: The voltage of a specified power source Vdd is shifted to a dropping direction, and the voltage of a specified ground GND is shifted to an increasing direction to supply the voltage to an inversion amplifier 10 within the limit, in which the output of the amplifier 10 satisfies the excitation conditions of the crystal resonator X and an output of a buffer section INV20 satisfies input conditions of a subsequent stage side circuit (not shown). In this way, the excitation level of the resonator X is suppressed, while maintaining the gain of the amplifier INV10 high, to prevent damages to the resonator X.
