PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amplifier in which distortion is reduced and unwanted radiation is suppressed. SOLUTION: The amplifier is provided with a bit division means 1 for dividing and extracting high-order bit signals from full bit signals of digital input signals, a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) means 2 for converting the high-order signals into PWM signals, a switching amplification means 3 for amplifying an output from the means 2 by switching, a D/A conversion means 4 for applying D/A conversion to the full bit signals, a linear amplification means 5 for linearly amplifying an output from the means 4, and an adding means 7 for adding an output from the means 3 to an output from the means 5 and outputting the added result.
