System for managing events comprises an interactive terminal (5) with a communications link to a central unit (7). An event participant can enter and identifier in the interactive terminal and so exchange data with the central unit. The central unit has a processing unit for classifying participants prior to an event and displaying the results on the interactive terminals and also carriers out a second classification after an event so that results can be displayed on the terminals. The invention also relates to a corresponding method.
