The invention relates to a mask strip comprising at least one holding element and a support whose top side is not adhesive and whose underside is self-adhesive. The mask strip is characterized in that the self-adhesive underside of the support consists of an adhesive film strip, which can be detached from the location on which it is adhered by pulling it in the direction of the plane of adherence and which contains a pressure-sensitive adhesive material based on styrene block copolymers and on adhesive resins. A hole is provided in the mask strip so that when the strip is adhered to the skin, the skin located under the hole is exposed and is surrounded and protected by the mask strip.
