When an OFDM−CDMA signal is generated, a CDMA processing section (130) spreads transmission data U1(k) by using an even symmetry code and an odd symmetry code as spreading codes, and an OFDM processing section (140) modulates subcarriers in a mutually orthogonal relation to one another so that mutually symmetrical chips after even or symmetric spreading processing are assigned to subcarriers of mutually opposite phases. Thus, the signal points of the modulation signals about the transmission data can move along different straight lines on the I−Q plane. As a result, the signal points can be uniformly dispersed to suppress the peak voltage.
