The gantry drive has an insertion shaft (6) and an axial conical gear (7). These are made in one, in the form of an axial conical gear shaft (5). By this means, axial forces from a drive gear (8) can also be supported by a differential bearing (10). The drive gear should preferably be in floating bearings, and attached to the axial conical gear shaft by a securing element (9).
