FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of blanks of large size wheels of large height. Method includes rolling of abrasive mass to form sheets, cutting out ring semifinished parts, packaging of parts and preliminary and final compacting. Preliminary compacting carries out by upper and lower forming plates with working surfaces in form of cones of rotation. Final compacting is carried out by flat plates with maximum upsetting at outer diameter of blank equal to value of maximum upsetting at preliminary compacting of pack at diameter of its hole. EFFECT: reduced reject cause by separation of layers and breakage. 2 dwg
