<p>When transmitting stream data by a network such as the IEEE1394 method, even if the data format is changed in the middle, the processing before and after the change point is not interrupted. When stream data output from a first device is received by a second device via a predetermined network and the stream data output from the first device is changed from a first format content A to a second format content B, after output of the content A is complete, invalid data of format identical as the content B is output. During this invalid data output, the first device checks the state of the second device (steps S11 to S14) and upon detection of that the second device is ready for inputting the second format stream data, output of the second format content B is started.</p> |
