The IC engine has fuel and air injected into a combustion space (3) defined between stationary housing walls (1,2) and a relatively displaced piston (5), provided with a porous body (4) on the side facing the combustion space, in which the combustion is partially effected. The piston has a piston shaft (8) and a separately manufactured piston crown (6) provided with a holder (16) for securing the porous body in a reception recess (11) in the piston crown. An Independent claim for a manufacturing method for an IC engine is also included.
