<p>Novel human PGRP genes and their encoded proteins are provided herein. The peptidoglycan recognition proteins encoded by the disclosed nucleic acid sequences play a pivotal role in the innate immune response. PGRP genes and their encoded proteins provide valuable therapeutic targets for the design of agents which modulate the immune response to bacterial infection.</p> |
