The invention relates to a high-temperature accumulator (1), comprising a high temperature storage material (2), especially a graphite core (2) that stores thermal energy. The high-temperature storage material (2), for the purpose of insulation vis-à-vis the surroundings, is covered with an insulating material (3). Said insulating material (3) is subdivided into at least two insulating layers (3a, 3b). The thermal energy occurring in the interface area (4) between two insulating material layers (3a, 3b) can be led out from the high-temperature accumulator (1) by means of at least one thermoconductive means (5). The invention further relates to a high-temperature accumulator (1) that comprises a high-temperature storage material (2), configured as a solid body, especially a graphite core (2) that stores thermal energy. At least one thermoconductive means (8) is disposed in said graphite core and abstracts the stored thermal energy from the high-temperature storage material (2). The invention also relates to a method for insulating hot articles.
