The operating system for IC engine valves (4, 5) has transmission systems between cams (2, 3) on a camshaft (1) and the valves. This consists of levers (6, 7) which act on rollers (16, 17) and can be disconnected from them. The ends of the levers are supported by contours on the cams. The camshaft has oil feed channels (22, 23, 27) to reduce friction between the levers and cams.
