The apparatus has a housing (1) with upper and lower insert openings, one for single tickets, the other for multiple journey tickets. Appropriate sized transport rollers are provided behind the openings. A similarly sized print roller (27) is also provided. The tickets are guided through the rollers and the print roller is driven by an electric motor. Sensors are provided near the insert openings and near the transport and print rollers. A blower is provided to blow air in the region of the thermo print head. Acoustic and optical indicators are provided outside the housing. The sensors, print head, print head, indicators and blower are connected to an electronic circuit comprising a microprocessor, software memory, length measuring mechanisms, a timer, a data memory and a data transmission connector.
