STENT DELIVERY CATHETER

A stent delivery catheter in which a stent can be arranged with a good operability even in a constricted bent part without causing any dropping-off or dislocation of the stent. A foldable balloon comprising a truncated cone type tapered part and a tubular straight part is provided at the forward end of a catheter, a stent is arranged on the outer surface of the folded balloon while being contracted, and a mechanism for preventing the movement of the stent in the axial direction is secured only to the inner surface of the balloon. Alternatively, the movement of the stent is prevented by making the tapered part of the balloon thicker than the tubular straight part. Furthermore, an RX type stent delivery balloon catheter enhanced in operability and suitable for easy production is provided.
