The device has a mobile glass panel (8) sliding with respect to a fixed glass panel (4) having two parts (4a, 4b) delimiting an opening (6) in the panel (4). The panel (8) closes the opening and is connected to the panel (4) by crossbars (15, 16). The crossbars are moved away from a periphery of the panel (4) such that the periphery is integrated to edges (3) of a window (2) arranged in a panel (1) of a body shell. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabricating and mounting a transparent closing device intended to close a window arranged in a body shell of a vehicle.
