<p>The invention relates to an electronic ballast that is used to control the power absorbed by a discharge lamp and to the method used in said device. The inventive electronic ballast (1) comprises an oscillator module (3) generating a variable voltage which is supplied with direct current voltage via a capacitor voltage divider and which comprises (i) an amplifier-subtractor stage in order to generate a first image voltage of the variable voltage and (ii) a push-pull stage with threshold-free comparators in order to compare the first voltage with a second voltage that corresponds to the discharge lamp (6) supply current. Moreover, said electronic ballast comprises a constant-power supply module (2) which is designed to convert the alternating current voltage from the electric network (4) into direct current voltage (5) which supplies the oscillator module (3). The invention is particularly suitable for use in the field of discharge lamps which are used to equip a lighting circuit and which are normally powered by ferromagnetic ballasts. The inventive device provides improved control of the light flux while increasing the service life of the lamps.</p> |
