PURPOSE: A system and method for tracing a signal by paths when IMT-2000 mobile switching center and other network(PSTN/ISDN) interwork are provided to facilitate tracing and verification of a complete call or incomplete call produced during interfacing with PSTN/ISDN by easily verifying a process of a call interworking with PSTN/ISDN through registration and release of a trace function by paths that meets an operator's demand. CONSTITUTION: A call processing system library(101) performs a common library function required for a basic call processing. An RNC and MSC Interface(102) interfaces a base station(120) and a path signal tracing system(100). A 3rd generation call control(103) processes an originating call and a termination call through an interworking call control function among RNC,/HLR/VLR. User part control(104) processes a transit call with No.7 ISUP network. A narrowband user part interface(105) encodes or decodes an ISUP signal message. A number translation control(106) performs a number translation control function. A route control(107) controls an ISUP outgoing routing control function. A trace control function(108) registers/releases an ISUP path trace function requested through an operator terminal(130) or outputs related trace information to the operator terminal(130). A network data handling(109) processes related data when corresponding path signal trace function is registered/released. A location management control(110) performs mobility management control functions such as a subscriber location registration and location release function, a call checking function, a subscriber profile managing function or a roaming number assignment function. A 3rd generation mobile application part(111) interfaces a home location register(140) and the path signal tracing system(100). |
