<p>An IC card operation system capable of enhancing the additional value of data stored in an IC card and widely spreading the IC card. The IC card has a storage area divided into a private area and a public area. A traffic fare value is recorded in the private area while a service point issued by shops is recorded in the public area. The service point issued by the shops can be converted into the traffic fare value. Here, the public area consists of an area for accumulating points for each of the shops and an area for accumulating points of all the shops. When a shop accumulates a point, the point is added to both of the areas. When the point is consumed as a traffic fare value, the point from the latter area is consumed. Thus, while each shop retains a point accumulated, the point accumulated on the IC card can be used as a traffic fare value.</p> |
