The diesel ram has a cylinder (10) with a beating piston (26) fitted with a lower beating unit (12). The cylinder and piston define a combustion zone (62), with an intermittent diesel fuel feed (38). An intermittent water feed (40) delivers water into the combustion zone. The fuel and water feeds are integrated into a single component unit, or they are separated, with operating levers (42,44) working with the piston. The water feed is linked to a water pump (72) through an adjustable throttle.
