Measuring chain comprises an electrode shaft (1) having an indicator electrode (10) formed as a measuring body (12) with a sensitive surface made from a group IV-VIb metal which can be corroded by the medium to be measured. A reference electrode (7) containing a metal selected from gold and platinum group metals on its outer surface (7a) is also included which is subjected to the medium to be measured. Preferred Features: The reference electrode is made from platinum, has a ring shape and surrounds the axis of the electrode shaft. The reference has an outer surface which is aligned with the outer surface of the electrode shaft. The measuring body of the indicator electrode has a casing surface (14) surrounded by an insulating sleeve made from a plastic.
