The mechanism to move the warps at a loom, to form the shed, of all the available healds (3a-3g) at least a part are moved with different stroke lengths. Any possible number of healds have a parallel stroke, irrespective of any other functions e.g. locking and release and/or components for the guiding and arrangement of the healds e.g. the stroke guide and locking units (1,2). The moving healds are held durably in a parallel position. The heald selection and operation is magnetic and/or pneumatic and/or by a piezo system and/or mechanically and/or in a positive fit and/or in a force fit.
