<p>PURPOSE: A container assembly with a case pivotally mounted in a housing shell is provided to reduce the number of parts by manufacturing the part through injection-molding, and to prevent the case from being released accidentally by restricting the case from moving from the closed position to the pushing position. CONSTITUTION: A container assembly mounted in a vehicle comprises a housing shell(12), a case(18) pivotally secured in the shell so as to move between an open position and a closed position, a spring for deviating the case to the open position, and a latch mechanism for latching the case at the closed position. The mechanism releases the case from the closed position by pushing the case to the pushing position onto the case against tension of the spring. The assembly further comprises a block unit having a block member(22) spring-deviated to a normally pausing position, and moved to the effective block position by inertial force. The member at the pausing position allows the case to be freely pivotally secured and prevents the case from moving from the closed position to the pushing position, thereby preventing the case from being accidentally pivotally moved to the open position.</p> |
