<p>The invention relates to a safety switch device (50) for safe disconnection of an electric consumer, especially an electric machine (26), comprising at least one output switch (14) for interrupting an external current supply path (30). The output switch (14) has at least two switch positions. The safety switch device also comprises a control unit (12) which controls the switch position of the output switch (14). Means (16, 24,) are also provided so that the control unit (12) monitors an actual switch position of the output switch (14).
