A lotion composition is applied to at least a portion of at least to the body facing surface of the topsheet, the lotion composition having a level of hydrophobicity equal or greater than that of said topsheet. A backsheet is joined to the topsheet and an absorbent core is disposed between the topsheet and said backsheet.
