A hybrid vehicle having an internal combustion engine (1) as a drive source for traveling and a generator-motor (2), comprising a Rankine cycle device ( 9) for recovering the heat energy of exhaust gas, wherein the output of the Rankine cycle device (9) is input into a transmission (4), and used to assis t the drive force of the internal combustion engine (1) or converted into an electric power to use for charging a battery (8), the heat energy of the exhaust gas is recovered by the Rankine cycle device (9) while the vehicle i s being accelerated and cruising, and the kinetic energy of a body is recovere d as a regenerative power of the generator-motor (2) while the vehicle is bein g decelerated to save the fuel consumption of the internal combustion engine (1), whereby, even if the vehicle comes in any operating state, an energy recovering efficiency can be maximized to save the fuel consumption of the internal combustion engine. |
