<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a reduced metal excellent in the productivity while avoiding erosion of a refractory, as the method for producing the reduced metal by heating and reducing an oxidized metal, such as ore, by using a molten metal bath together with a carbonaceous reducing agent, such as carbonaceous material. SOLUTION: Mixture D of the oxidized metal raw material A and the carbonaceous reducing agent B is pressurize-formed at 250-550 deg.C and a formed body E having >=2.1 g/cm<3> apparent density is produced, and this body E is dipped into molten slag L on the molten metal bath K. CO gas generated from the formed body E is secondarily burnt by blowing oxygen gas F into the molten slag L, and the formed body E is heated through the molten slag L with this secondary combustion heat and the oxidized metal in the formed body E is reduced and melted to produce the reduced metal.</p> |
