PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of preventing the spread of burning if a flammable refrigerant leaking out of a freezing cycle device should burn because of the discharge of a deodorizing device. SOLUTION: The deodorizing device is disposed on a cold air pathway of the refrigerator. The deodorizing device mainly consists of a photocatalyst unit 25. The photocatalyst unit 25 decomposes the odor component included in the refrigerant by generating ozone with the corona discharge between electrodes inside when the high voltage is applied to the photocatalyst unit by a set-up transformer 24. If the photocatalyst unit 25 generates the arc discharge because of some factors, the flammable refrigerant leaking from the freezing cycle device may possibly burn with the arc discharge. However, as a window part of the photocatalyst unit 25 is closed by flame extinguishing wire gauze 47 and 50, the spread of the fire to the refrigerant present in the outside space of the photocatalyst unit 25 can be prevented.
