PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating resin composition which has no problem of damaging the old coating or the material to be coated, simultaneously, can coat thick by single coating and, in addition, has good adhesion, and excels in lifting-resistant properties/barrier properties on recoating. SOLUTION: The coating composition comprises a hydroxyl group-containing vinyl polymer, a glycerin ester of a 6-20C fatty acid, and a nonpolar organic solvent having an aniline point of 10-70 deg.C.
