PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyarylenesulfide resin for films or fibers, which gives a much less amount of a low-molecular weight matter deposited at the nozzle part upon extrusion, generates less nozzle stains, and is favorable in film-forming properties and spinning properties, a method of manufacturing the same, and a film or fiber prepared therefrom. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a polyarylenesulfide resin for films or fibers comprises reacting a polyhalogen aromatic compound with a sulfiding agent in a polar organic solvent to polymerize a polyarylenesulfide resin by using 3.2-5.5 mols of the polar organic solvent per mol of the sulfiding agent. The polyarylenesulfide resin for films or fibers is manufactured by this method of manufacturing the resin, and the film or fiber is manufactured from the polyarylenesulfide resin for films or fibers. |
