摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optic device which can suitably be used for mobile phones and mobile computers or the like, which has excellent flatness and joining performance of an end of a reflecting plate to an uneven layer, in which sufficient orientation processing can be realized and which has enhanced contrast in a display, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The electro-optic device 100 provided with a couple of substrates 10, 20 for sealing and holding an electro-optic substance 50 and placed opposite to each other, an unevenness layer 7 having unevenness on its surface and formed to the upper layer side of the one substrate 10, a reflecting plate 8 that is formed on the unevenness layer 7 to have an uneven pattern 8g corresponding to the unevenness of the surface of the unevenness layer 7 and irregularly reflects the incident light from the other substrate 20 out of a couple of the substrates 10, 20 which the unevenness pattern 8g, and a transmitting electrode 9, is characterized in that a projection 7p of the unevenness layer 7 is formed inside a region in which the reflection plate 8 is formed.
