PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a different diameter sleeve which is capable of easily manufacturing the high-accuracy different diameter sleeve by an electroforming method. SOLUTION: Wire-shaped materials and rod-shaped materials of metal are used and are worked by cutting, grinding, etc., so as to satisfy prescribed conditions, such as misalignment of axial centers of different diameters from each other. These materials are subjected to slitting and printing to the non-conductive sections of axial lengths, etc. A core material is perpendicularly held and tools are attached to segments at both top and bottom ends exceeding the axial length and the portions near the same are shielded by insulating tapes. The core material is then immersed into a nickel electroplating bath and is rotated. Process step management is performed by controlling the internal stress remaining in an electroforming layer while paying attention to conditions, such as bath concentration and pH, in such a manner that the adequate compressive stress remains. When the electroforming layer attains a prescribed thickness, the core material is pulled up from an electrolyzer and the integral body of the core material and the electroforming layer 1 is removed from the tools, then the shielding tapes at both ends of the core material are removed. The nonconductive ink is dissolved away and the core material is pulled, by which the finished product of the different diameter sleeve by the electroforming layer is obtained.
