PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger 1 capable of preventing air accumulation in a tank 5, and reducing a size of the tank 5. SOLUTION: The heat exchanger 1 includes two inlet/outlet pipes connected to a side surface of the tank 5. A shape of the tank 5 is changed from a conventional rectangular solid shape into a stepped shape which one side is high, and the other side is low in a longitudinal direction of a capsule 7 of the tank 5, and a center position of a connecting part 44 on an inlet side of the inlet/ outlet pipe of a side cap 9 is shifted to a slanting upper direction from a center position of a connecting part 45 on an outlet side. Thereby, a width of the tank 5 does not become extremely large to a width of a tube 3. As a result, the size of the tank 5 can be reduced, and a mounting space of the heat exchanger 1 is sufficiently secured. Furthermore, because a separator 8 of an approximately dog leg shape is provided in the tank 5, the air accumulation in a tank chamber 12 on an inlet side and a tank chamber 13 on an outlet side of the tank 5 can be prevented.
