PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording medium comprising a thermal recording layer, an intermediate layer, and a protective layer formed in turn, which is suitable for a field for manufacturing a printing plate by a block copy film, a medical field, a geographical survey field, etc., by enabling the permeation of an organic solvent in a process for treating by the organic solvent in the application of a protective layer, improving the permeability of the thermal recording medium in an ultraviolet wavelength range, reducing a ground density, materializing the surface smoothness of a coloring part, by forming the intermediate layer from a resin containing a spherical filler having a diameter at least 70% of an average layer thickness. SOLUTION: In the thermal recording medium in which the thermal recording layer containing an electron donor coloration compound, an electron acceptor compound, and a binder, the intermediate layer, and the protective layer are formed in turn on a support, the intermediate layer contains the spherical filler and is formed from the resin which is not dissolved in the liquid medium of a protective layer application liquid. |
