SOLUTION: In the thermal recording medium in which the thermal recording layer containing an electron donor coloration compound, an electron acceptor compound, and a binder, the intermediate layer, and the protective layer are formed in turn on a support, the intermediate layer contains the spherical filler and is formed from the resin which is not dissolved in the liquid medium of a protective layer application liquid.
