PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-propelled type soil improvement machine in which the generation of a bridging phenomenon in a hopper can be inhibited. SOLUTION: The self-propelled type soil improvement machine has constitution having the hopper 12 being installed on one side in the longitudinal direction of a main-body frame in the upper section of a travel device and receiving soil and sand to be improved, an opening section 12e for cutting out soil and sand being mounted on the lower section of the side wall 12c of the hopper 12 and having an opening width W1 in approximately the same size as the height-direction size H2 of the hopper 12, a conveyor being secured to the lower section of the hopper 12 and having a width size W3 capable of receiving soil and sand cut out from the opening section for cutting out soil and sand, mixing equipment set up on the main-body frame and having an inlet section in the width size capable of receiving soil and sand conveyed by the conveyor, and a discharge conveyor discharging improved soil discharged from the mixing equipment to the outside of the machine.
